Thanksgiving Leave

The information below is from Gen. Weida's briefing on the afternoon of inprocessing. He was adamant that the schedule would be observed so that reservations could be made.
THANKSGIVING TRAVEL:
You can schedule flights to leave COS no earlier than 1830 on 22 Nov and DEN no earlier than 2030.
Must return to AFA by 1900 on 27 Nov with allowances made for weather delays, etc. but they must call if this happens. He said this schedule was set and would be observed.

HOWEVER, IF YOU WISH TO BUY A TICKET FOR TUESDAY EVENING, YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR CADET TO MAKE SURE THIS TIME IS CONFIRMED TO THEM. I HAVE HEARD SOME SQUADRONS ARE BEING KEPT LATER. SOMETIMES THINGS CHANGE AND YOUR CADET WILL KNOW WHEN HE/SHE HAS BEEN CLEARED TO GO. ANY FLIGHTS LEAVING ON WEDNESDAY SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM.

CHRISTMAS TRAVEL: Flights out can be scheduled from COS no earlier than 3 hours after end of final exam and from DEN no earler than 5 hours after end of final exam. Exam schedule will be posted Parents weekend

    Parent's Weekend Information

Here is some good information about what you need to know before you attend Parent's Weekend. I want to thank parent Debbie Land for her knowledge.

Everyone should have received, or will be receiving, 2 sets of passes: one set is 2 copies of car passes that you will place on your front dash which shows you have permission to be on base for PW. The second set is 2 copies of the Parent/Family Escort Pass (a little bigger than a business card which you could put in your pocket or wallet) which gives you permission to ride the shuttle buses or walk around the cadet area. The family passes are good for your group, so each individual doesn't need their own copy. But, your cadet can get more if your group needs more...say, if they're going to break up & go different directions in the cadet area at lunch time or between classes.

Lunch tickets for 4° parents (& the breakfast tickets for firstie parents) for Mitch's should be available now in each squadron. Usually this kind of information is sent out to each cadet in their daily deluge of emails! I would suggest your cadet ask the person immediately above them in their chain of command. Or look through their emails for the info.

Your cadet has to buy the tickets for you & they are allowed 2 per cadet. I have heard in the past of some cadets giving their tickets to another cadet who wanted more people in his family to go to lunch with him.
